About Me

MATTHEW BUSSE

Hello! I started off as a scientist, earning a PhD in molecular biology and working in the pharmaceutical industry for many years. Even though I worked with many woderful people, I was never passionate about the work. So at the age of 40, I left my comfy life and went on a journey of self discovery.

I was inspired to pursue photography while spending the summers of 2019 and 2020 at my mom’s cottage on Lake Lucern, in Northern Wisconsin. Living in the stunning beauty of that raw nature created within me an undeniable desire to capture that beauty and share it with others.

After settling in Humboldt County, CA, the desire to share the beauty of nature continued to grow. The world can appear to be a very dark place at times, but beauty is all around us, always. All we have to do is look for it. These images of nature's beauty can help us remember 😊
